[FreeRTOS Home] [Live FreeRTOS Forum] [FAQ] [Archive Top] [July 2012 Threads] Alternative memory allocation algorithmPosted by Tamir Michael on July 4, 2012 Hello,
FYI, this algorithm
http://svnmios.midibox.org/listing.php?repname=svn.mios32&path=%2Ftrunk%2FFreeRTOS%2FSource%2Fportable%2FMemMang%2F&rev=1041#
does merge freed blocks.
@Richard,
Do you think it is a good idea to officially release this one, as a forth memory management option?
RE: Alternative memory allocation algorithmPosted by Richard on July 4, 2012 Thanks for your contribution. I would be grateful if you could post it to the FreeRTOS Interactive site. There is already a similar scheme posted there (maybe from you also?). I need to make some links to them from the main web site (especially on the memory management pages), and will add some links to the "highlighted contributions" menu item too. http://interactive.freertos.org/forums/135282-any-other-files-any-other-manufacturers-any-other-business
For indemnification reasons (to ensure commercial users can use the code as easily as possible without getting tied up in paperwork), contributed code is kept separate from official code. However, contributions are greatly encouraged and the aim is to make them available to everybody.
Regards.
